6 August: Session 1: God’s Story, My Story, and Confirmation (Understand what Confirmation is and why it matters)
- God’s love and plan for each person
- Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation as the sacraments of initiation
- What Confirmation does:
- Strengthens baptismal grace
- Deepens relationship with Christ
- Offers the Holy Spirit in a special way
- Read Acts 2:1–13 (Pentecost)
- Share: “Where do I see God in my life?”
- Saints as exemplars of faith. Begin researching a Confirmation saint
13 August: Session 2: The Holy Spirit and the Gifts (Discover how the Holy Spirit works in everyday life)
- Who is the Holy Spirit?
The 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit: Wisdom, Understanding, Counsel, Fortitude, Knowledge, Piety, Fear of the Lord
- Fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23)
- Prayer and discernment
- Match real-life young adult situations to the gifts
- Discuss how their chosen saints demonstrated these gifts
20 August: Session 3: Living the Faith as a Confirmed Catholic (Understand the commitment that comes with Confirmation)
- What it means to be a disciple of Jesus
- The Creed and basic Catholic beliefs
- Mass, prayer, and the sacraments as lifelong practices
- Service, witness, and moral decision-making
- Review of the Confirmation rite and what will happen during the ceremony
- Discuss real-life scenarios (friendship, social media, honesty, service)
- “Why do I want to be confirmed?”
